Bid Description: Winston-Dillard Water District: Raw Water Intake System for the Winston-Dillard Water District. The project must be substantially complete 450 days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. Estimated construction cost for the Basic Bid is between $2,600,000 and $3,200,000. The project consists of the following major items of construction: 1. Basic Bid a. Rock Blasting of approx. 400 cubic yards (in place measure) of rock from the Umpqua River. Dewatering and shoring will be required for the blasting and excavation of the blasted rock material. The blasted material will be removed to allow for construction of a new raw water intake structure. b. Installation of a new 14-ft OD, 59 feet tall concrete intake structure excluding foundation height. The intake structure will be located in the Umpqua River, and contain three (3) vertical turbine pumps. The pumps will convey raw water from the intake to the existing water treatment plant to through a 195 foot long, 14-inch diameter ductile iron transmission line. The intake structure will have a manway bridge, approximately 54 feet in length to allow access to the intake. c. Construction of a 120 square foot CMU raw water screen pump building. The building will house two (2) skid mounted raw water pumps and controls that will provide screen wash water to the intake screens. The pump station will be connected to 240 feet of 4-inch diameter pump feed line and have two 2-inch diameter pump discharge lines which will connect to the new intake raw water screens. d. Construction of a 120 square foot CMU Sulfuric Acid Pump Station. The pump station will include a chemical feed system, chemical containment sump, building, pump controls, and miscellaneous controls and items. e. Other work includes demolition work, installation of various water line fittings and appurtenances, electrical work, removal and replacement of ac pavement, lead painted tank demolition, fencing, and landscaping. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract.
