( 01-2022-032) Des Moines: Design, bidding and construction phase services for the SE 14th Street and Maury Street Intersection improvements. This request invites qualified Consultants to submit proposals for accomplishments of the items of work described below under Scope of Services. Proposals shall be prepared and submitted in accordance with the requirements described in this Request for Proposals (RFP). Once the Consultant is selected, a contract will be negotiated based on a mutually agreed upon scope of services. Project includes resurfacing Euclid Avenue from East of 2nd Avenue to the Des Moines River. The cross section is anticipated to be a 3-lane road. The plan would include moving the curbs to narrow the roadway. The project would convert all the previously constructed pilot features such as concrete bumpouts to permanent features from east of 2nd Avenue to 12th Street. The project would fill in sidewalk where it does not exist along the corridor. The City of Des Moines is currently constructing sidewalk along Euclid Avenue from the Des Moines River to 16th Street along the south side of the road. The project would also improve the sidewalk ramps at intersections along the corridor. This project will be bid via a City of Des Moines local letting. Consultants are asked to show their hours and fees for the Pilot conversion to a permanent three-lane cross section between 2nd Avenue and 12th Street and a separate fee for the extension of the project westward from 12th Street to the Des Moines River moving the curbs in and addressing the sidewalk gaps and intersection ramps.
