Gig Harbor: North Creek Culvert Feasibility Study. The City of Gig Harbor is considering replacing the culvert under Harborview Drive that conveys North Creek (also known as Donkey Creek). The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife has determined this culvert to be a partial fish barrier and the City sees the benefit to replacing such barriers with fish passable structures. To assist the City with this possible replacement the City is requesting support from an engineering firm to prepare a feasibility study that assesses the benefits and impacts to replacing the culvert, develops design alternatives and associated cost estimates, receives input from local stakeholders and permitting agencies, and provides a recommendation based on the information gathered. The City desires to have the feasibility study completed by November 2022 so the City may proceed with design, permitting, and grant applications beginning in 2023.
