(22-04-2785LE) Navajo Nation EPA: ARCHAEOLOGICAL SERVICES FOR NPS WATERSHED PROJECTS. The purpose of this bid is to provide the Navajo Nation, through the Navajo EPA – Water Quality/Navajo Nation Pollutant Discharge Elimination (WQ/NPDES) Program, with a source to provide construction for the following Clean Water Act Nonpoint Source (NPS) project within the Teecnospos Chapter: “Teecnospos Chapter Nonpoint Source Pollution Reduction Through Implementation Of Watershed Projects At The Goat Spring Wash Watershed”. In 2017, Navajo EPA staff was invited by the Teecnospos Farm Committee Chairperson to discuss issues associated with surface water flows in their community. After numerous meetings and field visits, the committee identified and prioritized problem areas associated with surface water, in which, public safety, property, and agricultural industry were compromised by stormwater runoff. NPS Pollution caused by the release of excess sediment from highly concentrated stormwater flows resulted in streambank instability that threatened the Goat Spring Wash, public safety and property.
