(2022-006) Connecticut Airport Authority: Demolition of Administration Building - Hartford-Brainard Airport. The project consists of: Demolition of the former Administration Building at the Hartford-Brainard Airport followed by site restoration. The two-story commercial building with basement encompasses approximately 2,600 square feet. Prior to structural demolition, Universal Wastes and other listed regulated items and off-site disposal or recycling must be removed from the building, abatement of asbestos containing materials (ACM) and off-site disposal must be performed, and identified paint and caulk containing polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) must be removed for off-site disposal as PCB Bulk Product Waste. Demolition of the building includes associated sidewalks, foundation, and ramps. The demolition debris must be removed and disposed at an approved off-site facility. Following demolition, the foundation excavation shall be backfilled to match surrounding grades and turf established. Final site restoration includes installation of a security fence to isolate the airport from the surrounding area.
