The Municipality will retain a consultant firm for the following: Part Name: Part 1 Project Description: Final design for replacing the wearing surface on the bridge and rehabilitating approach roadway pavement. The project also includes the main finger joints and expansion joints on the approach spans. Part Name: Part 2 Project Description: Construction Phase Services for the BFB Resurfacing. Part Name: Part 3 Project Description: Preliminary Design to improve traffic operations on the eastbound approaches to the BFB, and improve the safety and connectivity for pedestrians and bicycles. Part Name: Part 4 Project Description: Final Design to improve traffic operations on the eastbound approaches to the BFB, and improve the safety and connectivity for pedestrians and bicycles. art Name: Part 5 Project Description: Construction Phase Services for BFB EB Operational Improvements. The BFB is a long span suspension bridge across the Delaware River that connects Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Camden, New Jersey. The Bridge carries vehicular, rail transit, pedestrian and bicycle traffic. The overall length of main and approach spans is 8,240 feet, and the roadway width is 77’-10”. Parts 1 and 2 include Final Design and Construction Phase Services for the BFB Resurfacing. The proposed improvements include the following: -Replacing the roadway wearing surface on the entire bridge, -Rehabilitating finger plate expansion joints on the suspension spans, -Replacing strip seal expansion joints on approach spans, -Replacing the concrete bridge deck in the vicinity of the Philadelphia 5th Street Pedestrian Tunnel -Rehabilitating approach roadway pavement on both sides of the bridge, and -Reconstructing toll plaza pavement. Parts 3, 4, and 5 include Preliminary Engineering, Final Design, and Construction Phase Services for the BFB EB Operational Improvements: -Realigning the Fifth Street approach north of Race Street and other streetscape improvements to improve bicycle and pedestrian connections to the BFB Walkway.
